Andhra Pradesh Governor Sri Biswa Bhusan Harichandan congratulates Sri Y.D. Ramarao for winning the Red Cross Society’s President’s Medal 
Vijayawada, July 16: Andhra Pradesh Governor Sri Biswa Bhusan Harichandan who is also the President of Indian Red Cross Society, AP State Branch, has presented the President’s Gold Medal of the Indian Red Cross Society for the year 2018-19 to Sri Y.D. Ramarao, Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, East Godavari District Branch, for his distinguished service to the cause of Red Cross movement in East Godavari district, more than a decade. 
Governor Sri Harichandan congratulated Sri Y.D. Ramarao for winning the President’s medal for the exemplary service rendered by him for the cause of Indian Red Cross Movement and said that the entire team of Indian Red Cross Society, AP State Branch is proud of his achievement.  
The Indian Red Cross Society, National Headquarters gives away two Gold Medals every year at National level to individuals who have contributed to the Red Cross movement with exemplary service for more than 15 years. Sri Y.D. Ramarao, Chairman of IRCS, East Godavari District Branch was nominated for the Award for the year 2018-19. Normally, these Gold Medals are presented to winners by the President of India, who is also President of the Indian Red Cross Society. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the President’s Gold Medal has been presented to Sri Y.D. Rama Rao by Governor Sri Harichandan, who is the President of the IRCS AP State Branch at a programme held in Raj Bhavan on Friday. Sri Mukesh Kumar Meena, Secretary to Governor, Sri A. Sridhar Reddy, Chairman and Sri A.K. Parida, General Secretary of Indian Red Cross Society, AP State Branch were also present on the occasion.
